I studied maths at the University of Kent and joined a UK bookmaker's risk team straight after graduating. Over nine years I set stake limits, reviewed accounts and priced the cost of promotions. I left in 2023, moved to Margate and started writing about betting from the customer's side.
What this site is for
Most betting reviews focus on welcome offers. I focus on the things that cost you money over time: the margin in the odds, how quickly withdrawals arrive and how bookmakers treat customers who win. I explain the numbers so you can check them yourself.
How I test
I open real accounts with my own money, record prices on a large sample of events, time every withdrawal and test customer service with genuine questions. I only cover bookmakers licensed by the Gambling Commission, and I update pages when rules or results change.
Independence
Some links on this site earn a commission. That funds the testing, but it never decides which bookmakers I recommend or what I say about them. If a site is slow to pay or quick to limit customers, I will say so.
